How to Make a Discover Card Payment
Making a payment to your Discover card has never been easier. You have the option of paying it online or mailing in a check. The method you use to make your payment will depend on your financial situation, the time you have to make the payment and, basically, what works for your budget.

1)The easiest way to make a payment toward your card is to use the online form. When you have a Discover card, you have access to all your card information at Discovercard.com. Simply log in with your account number and set up a password. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be directed to your “dashboard.” This screen shows your balance, what your your minimum payment is and when your payment is due.
2)Click on the tab that says “Make Payment.” At this screen you can choose to pay the minimum, your entire balance or another amount. Choose how much you want discover card pay, then decide when you want the payment to post by either selecting “Continue With Current Posting Date” or “Revise Payment Posting Date.” You would choose the revised date if you want your payment to post in the future. For example, if it’s Monday but you won’t get paid until Friday, you can set the date for payment for Friday.
3)The next screen will lead you through a series of prompts to set up a payment through a banking account. You need to have your bank account number and your routing number. You can choose to have the funds come from your checking account or a savings account. Once this has been verified, click on the “Submit” button. At this page, you will receive a confirmation number. Write this down and keep it for your records.
4)If you are not comfortable handling your finances online, Discover still allows you to make your payments by mail. The address for this is Discover Financial Services, PO Box 6103, Carol Stream, IL 60197-6103. When you make a payment through the mail, be sure to include your Discover account number on your check. Also, leave plenty of time in advance of your due date for the payment to travel through the mail and be processed by Discover.
